About Us

The South Coast Events Forum is a collective of event professionals based across the South Coast of England. Born out of a spirit of collaboration and joined-up thinking, we believe that our industry is stronger together. By sharing ideas, tactics, contacts and techniques we believe we stand the best possible chance of surviving, prospering and delivering safe and secure events. 

Formed during the Covid pandemic, the SCEF was initially formed as a Community Interest Company. However, since November 2024, the SCEF has operated as a voluntary community group with no financial interests. The group now exists principally as a What'sApp group who meet occasionally and share ideas, contacts and opportunities with one another.

Creating an environment which advocates professionalism in the industry and drives income for all.

Events contribute a huge amount to the regional and national economy but, not everyone knows this - we will do our best to tell them!

  • What is the point of the SCEF?

    The South Coast Events Forum was set up in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic to support the industry across England's coastal communities. 


    In these uniquely challenging times, a true spirit of togetherness emerged and, it was from this point that the SCEF was born. 


    Nowadays, the group exists as a voluntary community open to people  working in the events sector. We aim to work together, learn from each other and survive to continue to delivering safe, secure and well attended events - of all types. 

  • Does it cost to be a member?

    There is no cost to join our community of events professionals and companies.


    The group is made possible by a network of volunteers providing their time and resources. 


    The SCEF is a voluntary organisation with no commercial interests or activity.

  • Are there any membership criteria?

    In order to join the SCEF you should work in the events industry, in any fashion.


    We are based in Bournemouth with a primary focus on Dorset, Hampshire & Wiltshire.


    We do, however,  welcome associate members who are based in adjacent counties or work primarily in our region.
