SCEF | CODE OF ETHICS

CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

Full Members of the South Coast Events Forum must:
  • Organise, supply or trade within the Events Industry and 
  • Be based in Dorset, Wiltshire or Hampshire or 
  • Regularly organise, promote or host at least one event per year within these counties. 

Event suppliers or freelancers who are based outside of Dorset, Hampshire or Wiltshire but have supplied at least 2 events in 
the region in the prior 12 months may become Associate Members. 

CODE OF CONDUCT

Members of the South Coast Events Forum agree to conduct their business in a fair, professional and safe manner and according to the following conditions: 

Safety
Members will ensure that the safety of staff, subcontractors and attendees is paramount in the planning, delivery and supply of events. 

Ethical Standards: 
Members will conduct their business to the highest ethical standards ensuring that they treat staff, customers and attendees with respect at all times. 

Legal Standards: 
Compliance with all relevant business, safety, licensing, event specific and data protection legislation is the essence of membership. Membership of the organisation may be revoked or suspended for alleged breaches of legal standards. 

Financial Conduct: 
Members will operate their business in a financially compliant manner and ensure that they take all reasonable steps to honour payments due to staff, customers and suppliers. Any financial indiscretion or mismanagement involving other members will be deemed suitable reason for membership to be suspended or revoked indefinitely. 

Diversity & Equality: 
The South Coast Events Forum is inclusive. We celebrate multiple approaches and opinions and members must treat staff, customers, suppliers and other members equally irrespective of gender, race, religion, sexuality, age or disability.  

Reputation: 
Members will not conduct themselves in a fashion which the Steering Group determines to be detrimental to the reputation of the South Coast Events Forum or the wider events industry. 

If you have concerns relating to current or historic behaviour of any member, please refer these directly to the SCEF Steering Group via email: compliance@southcoasteventsforum.com

Any members who are deemed by the Steering Group not to adhere to this code of conduct may have their membership suspended or revoked. The decision of the Group in this matter is final.
